Description: Sharlee from GripStuds.com states, “We are a very small company, so in late summer of 2011, when we went live with GripStuds.com to sell traction studs for tires and footwear, we were pretty overwhelmed.  Our parent company is in a completely unrelated industry, so our purpose in setting up this e-commerce site was solely an experiment in learning how to effectively market products on the internet.  We only have about 35 SKUs, so we have been quite shocked at the great response the site generates, doubling sales each year, and it looks like this year is going to do even better than that.”

Technologies Used: Sharlee continued, “When we first got started, we were total novices, and frankly, if it weren’t for LexiConn, I know we couldn’t have come this far.  We use ShopSite for our shopping cart software, and it interfaces nicely with our ShipWorks shipping/fulfillment program, which has made processing orders and shipping all over North America pretty simple.  Any time we have needed help, LexiConn has been very accessible and extremely quick and thorough in their responses.  Their level of competence and professionalism makes us feel much more secure as we continue to learn in this fast paced e-commerce world.”

Advice / Tips: Sharlee finished, “If your company is just getting started on the web, don’t be fooled into focusing entirely on the aesthetics of your website design; we have learned functionality is the most important aspect of our site.  Visitors will quickly leave us and move on to our competitors if our site malfunctions or is hard to maneuver.  Also, don’t pass up on getting help from the LexiConn support team – they are indispensable.  Good luck!”
